bean bag chairs with a squared-off bottom edge and a top edge that
comes to a point. The upper part that ends in a point provides back
support. The inventor used a mix of foam and polystyrene to help
hold the shape of this pillow bean bag chair.
Patent #4011611, filed 3/15/77, Beverly Hills, CA: bean bag chairs
created for outdoor use and as floatation device. The bean bag chair
is filled with polystyrene pellets, but the fabric is a non-expandable
water-proof nylon that allows it to float.
Patent #4027888, filed 6/7/77, East Troy, WI: a lounger chair shaped
like a serpent or rollercoaster, filled with polystyrene like bean
bag chairs.
Patent #4179158, filed 12/18/79, Chicago, IL: modular seats that
resemble a conventional sofa, filled with polystyrene like bean
